Since I was young I have been passionate about the topics of design and sustainability. Through research at MIT, I learned about the massive impact the built environment has on our climate and ecology. Although a major part of the problem, I believe architecture has the power to be a solution as well. Now that I am in school practicing to be an architect, I feel empowered and inspired to put my talents and knowledge to good use.
I pride myself on my ability to communicate and work with a team. I am the director of the Sustainable Education team, a part of Cornell University Sustainable Design (CUSD). We are a team of 32 undergraduate and graduate architects, engineers, scientists, and designers who design sustainable schools for children in countries without easy access to education. We are currently working with United World Schools Nepal to design a dormitory according to the Living Building Challenge standard. The opportunity to work on a real project not only has given me practical work experience, but more than anything has provided a great opportunity to use my platform to help others.
